Jaimie Worker, Director of Public Policy, is committed to ensuring that equity is a public policy priority and that leaders of communities most impacted by structural racism and oppression are key collaborators in developing public policy. Prior to joining the team at Caring Across Generations, she worked with the Economic Policy Institute providing policy support to a national network of state policy and research organizations advancing worker, racial, and gender justice. Previously, she was also part of the policy and legislative department at Community Change, where she worked on local and national racial and economic justice campaigns focused on jobs and public investment in partnership with grassroots organizations. Jaimie began her career at the Restaurant Opportunities Center of Michigan, supporting workplace organizing and policy campaigns to win improved working conditions in the restaurant industry. She holds an M.S.W. from the University of Michigan School of Social Work and a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Michigan. Jaimie is the proud daughter of immigrants and is originally from Detroit, Michigan. When not reading a book or searching for her next book, she enjoys making popcorn and biking, hiking, and camping with her family.
