Alexandra Lakind, ACLS Leading Edge Fellow, lives near Lake Michigan (Ininwewi-gichigami) and works at Caring Across as a postdoctoral fellow with the American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS). Alexandra received a BA from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, an MA from New York University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Their practice is informed by years of experience in paid and unpaid care work contexts. Prior to this fellowship, they were a Visiting Scholar at the University of Cambridge where they conducted research asking how idealizations of children and families shape possibilities for activism around care. Starting in fall 2023, Alexandra will serve on the steering committee of the Carework Network as part of a continued commitment to build meaningful bridges across research and advocacy.
